Capt Tom grew up spending his summers in Breezy Point. As a kid, he’d chase the tides, fishing every land accessible spot in Jamaica Bay. Targeting fluke and striped bass from the beaches of Breezy and Rockaway kickstarted his passion for the sport. As his love for fishing inevitably grew/became more addicting, his family was generous enough to get him on the water as much as possible. Over the past 12 years, he’s ran boats out of Freeport, through Jones Inlet, where his passion for offshore fishing really took hold. While chasing tuna is what fuels him most, he equally enjoys chasing inshore species like cobia, striped bass, and fluke. Whether it’s working the marshes in the back bay, or running deep to the canyon, there’s no place he’d rather be than on the water.
So listen, I ask all my guys to send me a bio that I can include on here. And the above is the slightly edited version of what Tom sent me. Everything is accurate, and true, however it doesn’t really tell Tom’s whole story.
The truth about Tom is he is an extraordinary fisherman. Not just with his knowledge about the fisheries we prosecute, or about boats in general, specifically the ones we run. What really sets Tom apart is his drive and dedication to put guys on fish NO MATTER WHAT. I included the below Google review, which illustrates this quite well. Was I happy that he burned 100 gallons on an inshore trip? Ahem, not really, LOL. But he delivered…and 100% he’ll do what it takes to deliver. At the end of the day THAT is what I hope and expect from all my guys.
Tom is the personification of the “One More Cast” philosophy.
We’re REALLY stoked to have him on board with us this year (2025) and you’re gonna be seeing a LOT more from him in 2026 and beyond.
“140+ miles. Countless casts. Trophy striped bass. What more could you ask for? We had an unforgettable day fishing with One More Cast Charters. Huge thanks to Captain John McMurray for running such a top-tier, dialed-in operation—professional, passionate, and laser-focused on putting anglers on fish. He sent us out with Captain Tom Galgano, who didn’t just go the extra mile… he went 140 of them! Tom worked tirelessly all day to track down the bite and make sure we hooked up. If you’re serious about chasing big bass and want a crew that treats every trip like a mission, this is the charter to book. First-class all the way.” Chris Curren
