Yes, he does spin trips, but Capt. Danny is really the “fly fishing guy”. While we all run saltwater fly fishing trips, Danny is the specialist. He runs both skiffs and focuses on shallow/topwater tactics in Jamaica Bay, a 10,000-acre saltwater estuary right next to JFK airport. J.Bay is arguably the BEST striped bass fishery on the East Coast in April and May, and it fishes damn good in October and November too. If you’re into saltwater fly fishing, or light-tackle top-water stuff, Danny is your guy!
Background
Originally a native New Yorker, growing up Captain Daniel Reich spent most of his free time in the Florida backcountry when his family moved to Tavernier Florida, in 1985. He studied the backcountry of Florida Bay, eventually got a skiff and received his USCG Captain’s license, and guided there for several years. In 2003, he relocated to New York City, where he works with “One More Cast Charters”. Captain Reich is an accomplished fly fisherman, a freelance writer, a fly tier, and he holds a degree in English from New York University.
